Welcome to the blog of the Society of American Archivists’ Human Rights Archives Roundtable! Keep an eye on this site for resources, news features, and guests posts.

For now, we’d like to announce a call for lightning talk proposals, putting the spotlight on our members to talk about their work and collections in human rights archives. We are asking for proposals for 7-9 “lightning” talks. Lightning talks are limited to five minutes per speaker, and should focus on one of the following two topics:

  1. Collections in human rights archives
  2. New and innovative work in human rights archives

In addition, speakers will be asked to provide a one-page handout for attendees. Since we so rarely have the opportunity to meet in person, the annual meeting is a great place for members to talk about their work with fellow human rights archivists/enthusiasts. If you’re interested in talking about your work or collection at our annual meeting, please email a paragraph summary of your talk to Tessa Fallon at tessa@archive.org. Be sure to include your name, affiliation, and links to relevant websites when possible.

Thanks, and we look forward to your proposals!
